The "Defenders of the Fatherland" square opened in Veliky Novgorod.

Veliky Novgorod Mayor Alexander Rozbaum explained how, with the support of Novgorod Region Governor Alexander Dronov, as well as the initiative of residents of the city's Western District, the leadership of the Novgorod regional police, and personally Honorary Citizen of the Novgorod Region Fyodor Rodionovich Kudrin, a new public space, the "Defenders of the Fatherland" square, was opened in Veliky Novgorod.
It happened yesterday, on Remembrance Day for those killed in the line of duty by members of the Russian Federation's internal affairs agencies. The new park honored the memory of those police officers whose names are forever inscribed in the history of the Novgorod region and are engraved on memorial plaques installed in the "Defenders of the Fatherland" park.
" I am confident that the new square will become a favorite recreation spot for all residents of Veliky Novgorod, as well as a venue for important and necessary patriotic events," said Alexander Rozbaum. " Thank you to everyone who came to the new square today and paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to fulfill their duty, protecting the peace and safety of citizens ."
